2 European Destinations on an NCL Mediterranean Cruise

Embarking on an NCL Mediterranean cruise was a dream come true for me, offering a chance to explore some of the most stunning destinations in Europe. Each port was a treasure trove of history, culture, and breathtaking views. Let me take you through two of my favorite stops on this unforgettable journey.

1. Barcelona, Spain

Arriving in Barcelona felt like stepping into a vibrant painting. The city’s architecture, especially Gaudí’s masterpieces, captivated me from the start. I began my day with a stroll down La Rambla, soaking in the lively atmosphere and indulging in some delicious tapas. 

My highlight was visiting the iconic Sagrada Família. Standing before this magnificent basilica, I was in awe of its intricate details and towering spires. Inside, the play of light through the stained glass was simply magical. Afterward, I explored the Gothic Quarter, with its narrow streets and charming plazas, each corner revealing another piece of history. As the sun set, I found a cozy spot by the beach to enjoy a glass of sangria, reflecting on the day’s adventures.

2. Amalfi Coast, Italy

The Amalfi Coast was nothing short of breathtaking. Arriving in the picturesque town of Positano was like stepping into a postcard. The colorful cliffside buildings, cascading down to the turquoise sea, left me speechless. I spent my day wandering through the narrow streets, discovering local boutiques and artisan shops. 

I couldn’t resist the temptation of gelato, savoring every creamy bite while taking in the stunning views. Later, I took a boat ride along the coast, marveling at the dramatic cliffs and hidden coves. The highlight was a visit to the charming town of Amalfi, where I explored the historic cathedral and enjoyed a leisurely lunch by the waterfront. As I watched the sun dip below the horizon, I felt grateful for the experiences and memories made in this idyllic part of the world.
